Vibrant Summer Wildflower Island Lake Lodge Wedding

Karliana and Andrew's wedding was nothing short of whimsical. Their vibrant summer wildflower Island Lake Lodge wedding held in beautiful British Columbia was full of blooms and bright hues. With the breathtaking Rocky Mountains as the backdrop to their "I do's" surrounded by lush forests and the glistening allure of Island Lake, it was truly a magical wedding to design florals for.

I (Janie) loved working with such vibrant colours and a wide variety of blooms, especially since the design called for so many different tones throughout the wedding. Island Lake Lodge also had such an intimate and exclusive feel for the couple, which made the entire celebration feel incredibly special. It was truly a stunning location and Karliana was lovely to work with!

It was especially meaningful that my husband — Oscar from Castaño Films — was the videographer for the wedding. The film he created for them became such a beautiful heirloom piece, filled with love, emotion, and so many unforgettable moments. It was the sweetest thing to see Karliana's grandma accidentally throw water on her as she walked down the aisle, thinking it was confetti - priceless! You can view this moment in the reel here.

Andrew was taking a semester abroad from Australia in 2010 and met Karliana as they were both journeying through their undergraduate degrees at the University of Calgary. Fast forward to their wedding day, the weather was gorgeous and sunny, shining on all of the wonderful scenery and florals for their special day.

Island Lake Lodge offered an unforgettable escape into the pristine mountains for Karliana and Andrew. The couple and their guests were surrounded by 7,000 acres of nature including breathtaking mountain peaks, lush forests, and a glistening lake. The lodge aims to provide an off-grid retreat with Wi-Fi and cell service only available in certain areas, seamlessly blending tranquility with comfort. What a luxurious and beautiful mountain paradise for the couple to have vowed to forever.
