Being a wedding & event florist is my absolute dream job, even after 12 years of owning Flowers by Janie & 23 years in the floral industry. It is incredibly rewarding to run your own floral studio but in all honesty it is A LOT of work & at times can seem completely overwhelming! It takes considerable time, care, learning & practise to build, grow & run your business so that it is profitable & brings you joy!
After years of being asked to mentor other florists, I have decided to create these Flowers by Janie Mentorship Sessions to help other florists feel supported and to help them plan & reach their business goals.
The mentorship sessions will be 1- hour personalized coaching calls via Zoom or phone to help answer the questions you have about starting or growing your wedding & event floral design business.
There are so many topics that can be discussed though each call may only have time to go over 2-3 priority topics. Click the link below to schedule a call.

What Is A Mentorship Session + How Does It Work?
The Mentorship Session is a 1-hour virtual coaching call through Zoom or phone with Janelle Gerestein (Janie) owner of Flowers by Janie. You will receive support and guidance to the questions you have related to your floral design studio and business. You will receive a post-session PDF to recap the call with practical next steps.

The Mentorship Sessions are geared towards floral designers who specialize in wedding & event floral design and new enthusiasts ready to take the leap into the floristry profession. Whether you are just getting started and need a lot of support or are a seasoned professional, Mentorship Sessions offer a personalized strategy to meet your goals.
Private Hands On Design Classes
If you are looking for a hands on design mentorship along with guidance and a critique of your designs, a half or full day private design class might be for you.
You can choose what you'd like to learn. Perhaps you need help creating bouquets, installations, centerpieces, floral crowns, boutonnieres or with using sustainable mechanics. The class will be tailored to what you'd like to learn or improve on.
Classes can be private one on one design mentorships or classes of up to three students for those who would like to attend with another florist friend.
Pricing will depend on what you'd like to learn, the class length and if you'd like to have professional photos or video taken of your work. We can also schedule a professional model and hair/makeup if desired.
